The next instalment of our series, we find out what a typical day looks like for Jacob Wood, Amtech’s Cisco Engineer.
Name: Jacob Wood
Job Title: Cisco Engineer
Time with the company: 3 Months
What’s typically the first task of the day?
Kettle on making a cuppa to start the day right!
How would you describe your role within the Amtech team?
I’m currently the sponge of the service desk, as I’m new and not dealt in telephony before, I try to pick up as much information as I can for when a ticket comes my way I am well prepared to deal with it.
What is your main priority on a typical day?
Monitoring the queue and making sure to deal with any major problems quickly and efficiently.
What’s your favourite part of your job?
I work with some really good people and there’s never a day that goes by that isn’t filled with a bit of banter.
Have you had much experience in this industry before, if so, what?
Yes, I worked for a networking company before but they didn’t really specialise too heavily in anything so struggled to gain as much exposure to new equipment as I do here at Amtech.
What does a typical day look like for you?
Days go quickly here at Amtech, but if I’m not sat at my desk working through my tickets I’m on site deploying phone systems.
We would love to help, fill out the form and one of our trained team members will get back to you within 24 hours
