A day in the life of Andrea Gibson
This is the first part in a series where we find out what each member of the Amtech Business Solutions team gets up to on a typical day.

What’s typically the first task of the day?
The first task of my day is nearly always checking my to-do list and prioritising and scheduling the day ahead.
How would you describe your role within the Amtech team?
I am responsible for generating new business and managing existing accounts. I work very closely with rest of the team, with Dave our MD and our team of engineers and support desk guys, to ensure that we develop business and keep our customers happy.
What is your main priority on a typical day?
My main priority is dealing with any outstanding issues with my accounts. Contacting existing and new customers, helping customers move forward on buying cycle.
What’s your favourite part of your job?
Hearing that customers have had a good experience in working with us. We recently completed a project to add additional sites for a housing association merger, we completed it within a month of getting the order and as a result, the consultant we have been working with is going to mention the good work we did to other similar organisations.
Have you had much experience in this industry before, if so, what?
I have worked before for various Cisco Gold Partners and worked for BT before joining Amtech, doing a similar role.
What does a typical day look like for you?
No day is the same and I really enjoy the variety in my job. My primary focus is to look at new business, but I also get involved with putting together campaigns. At the moment, we are putting together a cloud services solution for schools and I am busy finalising offers, looking at target contacts and speaking to suppliers. I also complete most quotes for the business and mix that with attending customer’s meetings, training to keep abreast of developments in the wide range of solutions we provide, along with making sure that we keep in contact with our existing customers.
