Getting to know the team – Jacob Wood (Cisco Engineer)
Jacob Wood is one of our talented Cisco engineers and newest additions to the team. Jacob decided to leave school at 15 to follow his dream of working in the IT industry and gain practical hands-on experience. They found their niche in networking and communications whilst working as a field engineer at an international services provider. He has seized the opportunity to specialise in Cisco products at Amtech and has demonstrated a good deal of technical knowledge and know-how. Jacob is extremely driven and keen to develop his existing skills further. Read on to find out more about Jacob, how he’s fit in with the team, and his experience of adjusting to life at Amtech.
What’s your favourite flavour of ice-cream?
Boring, but can’t beat Chocolate
If you could be an animal, then what animal would you be?
It’s got to be a cat; all they do is laze around and eat!!
What’s the one thing you enjoy the most?
The thing I enjoy most is going to festivals there is nothing better than sun and music.
If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would you be?
Portuguese coast, very beautiful and sunny.
What’s the nerdiest thing that you like to do in your spare time?
I like to play computer games in my spare time, best thing to do to relax and chill out with your mates.
What do you like about working at Amtech?
I love working at Amtech because of the team atmosphere, everyone helps each other out and when it gets busy we all muck in and work through it together.
What’s been your biggest challenge whilst working on Amtech?
There has been a lot to take on since joining Amtech and I think the biggest challenge was trying to learn the systems we use and how they operate.
What are you looking forward to in the future with Amtech?
I’m looking forward to watching Amtech continue to grow and building on the relationships I already have with customers and colleagues.
