This week we welcome Ryan Mitchell, one of our talented Collaboration Engineers, to the blog. Ryan recently graduated from Derby University, and was quickly snatched up to work here at Amtech soon after. He was no stranger to the industry though, as he gained a good foundation of experience and skills whilst working in the collaboration industry during his placement year, which he chose to complete in-between his studies. He is ambitious, hardworking, and is really starting to hone his skills as a Collaboration Engineer specialist. Read on to find out about their story so far, their likes and dislikes, and to hear more about what he does when he’s not working.
My Favourite flavour of ice-cream is a tough choice, but I will have to go with mint choc chip.
A dog would be pretty good, since they only have two things to really think about – food and sleep which I both enjoy.
Sounds really sad but playing PlayStation with my friends, especially Fifa I could play hours on that game and not get bored. Unless I was losing then I turn into a child, throwing my dummy out.
I would love to be in Orlando, Florida, especially when the Star Wars land comes out. I would be in my element there, especially on the millennium falcon. I’m a bit of a Star Wars nerd…
Again, it’s a tough choice, as I do quite a lot of nerdy things I think. I wouldn’t say it’s nerdy, but watching documentaries, especially David Attenborough documentaries. He is a bit of a hero of mine – I think I’ve watched pretty much all his documentaries.
I really enjoy the work and responsibility I get. It’s really a place where if you want to learn and challenge yourself then you will be given the opportunity to do so. Also, I’ve learnt something new each day and been able to better myself as a technical engineer.
I’ve thrown myself into the deep end quite a lot by saying yes to anything that gets passed to me. It has been rewarding, as I’ve learnt something from each experience, but at the beginning it always seems quite daunting. But I wouldn’t change it as it is the best way to learn and gain experience.
I am really looking forward to progress my skills further and help this business thrive. The future seems really good with Amtech and the more responsibility which I will get will help myself and the business grow.
That brings our interview to a close again for another couple of weeks. As always, we’d like to say a big thanks to Ryan for taking time out of his busy schedule for the interview.
We have plenty more interviews lined up over the next coming weeks, and there’s lots of great content planned for the blog, so make sure you follow us on Twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn to stay up to date with our latest shenanigans. We’ll soon be hosting our Amtech Bake Off, which is planned to take place on the 20th September 2016, so stay tuned for more information.
If you have any more questions for Ryan, we’re sure he’d be more than happy to answer them in the comments below.
We would love to help, fill out the form and one of our trained team members will get back to you within 24 hours
